What Was (A)I Made For?

Takin a drive, I was an ideal

Looked so alive, turns out I’m not real

Just something you paid for

What was I made for?”

– Billie Eilish, “What Was I Made For?”

It’s not just Barbie who wonders about her purpose in the eponymous movie. As artificial intelligence (AI), specifically the kind represented most commonly by ChatGPT, seems to occupy an ever-greater share of everyone’s mind, especially on social media, reflecting on the purpose of AI is a worthy exercise.

At Threadeo, we’ve been thinking deeply about this. We’ve been building cloud and AI-infused products that improve people’s lives since well before this latest hype cycle. Whether it’s our “10x better, 10x faster” sync for litigation support firms, or our upcoming platform specifically for personal injury lawyers, our purpose has always been constant: to provide the legal system with outputs that are higher quality than anything else on the market, faster.

But it’s not just about what we provide. It’s about who we support. By providing high-quality sync, with incredible accuracy under suboptimal audio conditions, our AI-enabled sync removes the vast majority of potential errors that would need to be manually handled by a team member at a court reporting firm, often under tight timelines. This greatly reduces the stress on that team member, who can now focus their attention on the human aspects of the job, including customer support and outreach, and simply sleep better (and hopefully longer) at night, knowing that late nights compensating for the inadequacies of software are a thing of the past.

Reducing stress and enhancing the employee experience. That’s what AI is made for.

Through the development of our advanced AI-enabled algorithm that provides best-in-class handling of interpreter jobs, we help democratize access to legal services for those for whom English may not be the primary language here in the United States.

Expanding and improving access. That’s what AI is made for.

Through the development of our cloud-based, AI-enabled deposition review platform, we support personal injury lawyers in taking a “…very painful and time consuming process and [making] it a breeze!” (Actual words from a satisfied law firm client). By providing personal injury lawyers with these tools, we enable them to accelerate resolution of matters on behalf of their clients, who may not have the means to otherwise combat wrongful death or life-changing injuries.

Accelerating the path to matter resolution. That’s what AI is made for.

And now, through the ongoing development of our latest product, we are working on enabling personal injury lawyers to tell more accurate stories of the journeys that their clients have had to go through while dealing with wrongful death or life-changing injuries, enabling resolution of matters in a more just manner than historically has been the case. Personal injury lawyers can rest easy knowing that their Threadeo product runs on the same (or better) class of cutting-edge AI models that their opposing counsels are using, making this a much more balanced matter than has historically been the case.

Putting disadvantaged parties on an equal footing. That’s what AI is made for.

To wrap it up, while it remains to be seen what the world thinks AI was made for, we can absolutely speak to what we at Threadeo believe that AI was made for: to deliver on the promise of leveraging advanced technologies to better serve those who are at a disadvantage. This is what motivates us to do what we do, and why we’ll continue to do it in the future.

You could say it’s what Threadeo was made for.
